Basketball Recap: Madison Garner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Ministries Academy over Gospel Light Christian

Christian Ministries Academy lost against Gospel Light Christian back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gospel Light Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Conquerors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Lions are ranked 66th).

Christian Ministries Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Garner, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points and eight rebounds. Garner is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Lexi Roelke was another key player, putting up five points along with seven boards and five steals.

C Lane continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gospel Light Christian, posting 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of A Crawford, who posted eight points.

Christian Ministries Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-9. As for Gospel Light Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Christian Ministries Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-16 loss against Abundant Life on the 10th. As for Gospel Light Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Southwest Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 17th.
