Volleyball Recap: Hiawatha's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Hiawatha lost against Rossville back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Hawks fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs. The Red Hawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Hiawatha ultimately came up short, they really made Rossville work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 26-24.

Claire Twombly paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up six kills. Twombly got some help from Adison Williams and her 13 assists.

Hiawatha's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Rossville, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 16-7.

Looking ahead, Hiawatha will welcome Royal Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rossville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Sabetha on the 2nd.
