The Vidor Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Splendora Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Splendora took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Vidor, who comes in off a win.
Vidor put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Hargrave with a sharp 49-28 win. Vidor didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Meanwhile, Splendora's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Livingston 46-14.
Vidor's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Splendora, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Vidor against Splendora when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 34-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vidor since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
