Basketball Recap: Columbus North Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Caleb Ferguson and Austin Perry

Columbus North lost against Terre Haute North Vigo back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Columbus North Bull Dogs fell 59-52 to the Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots.

Columbus North's loss came despite strong showings from Austin Perry and Caleb Ferguson. Perry went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points along with six blocks and four steals, while Ferguson almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Those six blocks gave Perry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Long, who posted ten points.

Terre Haute North Vigo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Klopfenstein, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bryce Renn, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Columbus North's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Columbus North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-44 win against Hauser on the 16th. Terre Haute North Vigo has also already played their next contest, a 58-43 victory against South Vermillion on the 13th.
