Everything went their way against Wisconsin School for the Deaf last week as the team secured a 70-6 victory. With New Mexico School for the Deaf ahead 48-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Iowa School for the Deaf had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game against Arkansas School for the Deaf 36-28.
Their wins bumped Iowa School for the Deaf to 1-0 and New Mexico School for the Deaf to 1-1. In their win, New Mexico School for the Deaf relied heavily on senior Jacob Stevens, who rushed for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Iowa School for the Deaf will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
