Otay Ranch is a perfect 3-0 against Sweetwater since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will face off against the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Otay Ranch turned things around against Olympian on Friday. They managed a 35-31 victory over the Eagles. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since November 1, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Otay Ranch can attribute much of their success to Jaidon Castillo, who rushed for 153 yards while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and Andrew 'AJ' Lopez, who threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Otay Ranch was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sweetwater). They claimed a resounding 34-6 win over Palo Verde Valley. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Red Devils had established a 27-point advantage.

Otay Ranch better keep an eye on Christian Corpus. He was instrumental in Sweetwater's win, rushing for 74 yards and three scores. Those 74 rushing yards gave Corpus a new career-high.

The victory got Sweetwater back to even at 3-3. As for Otay Ranch, their record is now 2-4.

Otay Ranch didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sweetwater when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 21-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
