Hays and Leander are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but likely not for long. The Hawks will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Leander will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Hays extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Hawks never let Cedar Park get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Addie S's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, D'Maya Winn was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Teuila Eteaki, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Hays lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedar Park didn't launched any.
Meanwhile, Leander's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They blew past Liberty Hill 7-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted against the Panthers since April 14, 2022.
Not much got past Scarlett Geurin, who gave up just two hits to keep Liberty Hill off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rachel Grundei, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Hays' victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Leander, their win bumped their record up to 16-4-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Hays hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Leander struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Hays might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Leander in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
