Roosevelt came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Fossil Ridge SaberCats, falling 11-2. The Roughriders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Roosevelt got a good showing from Wyatt McNerney, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McNerney has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jeremiah Bradberry was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Fossil Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Roosevelt and Fossil Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Roughriders will take on Northridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (57 vs. 236). Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge (ranked sixth) will meet ThunderRidge (ranked 107th) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
