After flying high against Curwensville on Thursday, Williamsburg came back down to earth. The Blue Pirates lost 12-3 to the Greater Latrobe Wildcats on Friday. The Blue Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Williamsburg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Long, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Sam Parks also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Williamsburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Greater Latrobe, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Coming up, Williamsburg will venture away from home to take on West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greater Latrobe, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-5 win against Huntingdon on the 25th.
