Centennial is 9-1 against the Bulldawgs since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Centennial Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Las Cruces Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Centennial is ranked 23rd, while the Bulldawgs are ranked 20th).
Last Friday, Centennial ended up a good deal behind the Knights and lost 46-27.
Las Cruces won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Alamogordo at home and fell 68-40. Las Cruces was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Las Cruces' loss came about despite a quality game from Bethzy Quinones, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Danae Pacheco, who scored ten points.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Las Cruces, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Centennial took their win against the Bulldawgs when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 65-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
