The Dillon Wildcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Georgetown 75-43 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Dillon has posted since December 27, 2023.
Ta'norre Monroe was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamaurious Robertson, who scored 14 points.
Despite the defeat, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Trenton Parker scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ean Mitchell, who scored eight points.
Dillon pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Georgetown, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Dillon will be playing at home against Loris at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Loris will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Georgetown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Waccamaw at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Waccamaw is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
