Deer Trail is 0-3 against Hi-Plains since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Deer Trail Eagles will head out on the road to  square off against  the Hi-Plains Patriots at 4:00  p.m. Deer Trail is coming into the  match on a four-game losing streak.
 Deer Trail struggled with  assists on Friday (Genoa-Hugo/Karval had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Deer Trail took a  34-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Genoa-Hugo/Karval. Deer Trail has not had much luck with Genoa-Hugo/Karval recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
 Despite the  defeat, Deer Trail saw an underclassman step up:  Megan Donovan  almost  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and nine  rebounds. That was a full 48% of Deer Trail's points, marking the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ally Hardwick, who  scored eight points along with six  rebounds and two  steals.
 Meanwhile, Hi-Plains beat Rocky Mountain Lutheran 34-27  on Saturday.
 Deer Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hi-Plains, they pushed their record up to 8-9 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home.
 Deer Trail took a serious blow against Hi-Plains  when the teams last played  back in February of 2023, falling  44-13. That  contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Deer Trail was down  25-5.
