The Morgan Trojans will challenge the South Summit Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Morgan's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Ben Lomond 17-0. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three games in a row.

Callie Averett was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Joesi Kelly was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaeson Ervin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Morgan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, South Summit made easy work of Millard on Wednesday and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Toshlyn Louder spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mariah Bowen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Brinley Stapleton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for South Summit, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.
South Summit's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Morgan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for South Summit, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Morgan's sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Morgan took their victory against South Summit in their previous meeting on April 8th by a conclusive 24-11 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
