The Bridgeport Bulldogs are still undefeated this season after their matchup against the Ogallala Indians on Tuesday, but the Ogallala Indians came as close as anyone has to beating them. Bridgeport narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Ogallala 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bridgeport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Loomis-goltl, who scored 18 points along with six assists. The matchup was Loomis-goltl's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Grace Dean, who scored 18 points.
Bridgeport pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.5 points. As for Ogallala, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
Bridgeport will be playing in front of their home fans against Alliance at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Alliance will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Bridgeport is ranked 23rd). As for Ogallala, they will head out on the road to face off against Cozad on Friday.
