Camp Point Central and Hamilton/Warsaw are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Camp Point Central Panthers on the road again on Friday and play against the Hamilton/Warsaw Titans at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hamilton/Warsaw took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Camp Point Central, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Camp Point Central strolled past Seymour with points to spare, taking the game 61-47. Given Camp Point Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Seymour is ranked 560th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Hamilton/Warsaw unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Illini West by a score of 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Camp Point Central's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-3.
Camp Point Central couldn't quite finish off Hamilton/Warsaw when the teams last played on January 4th and fell 45-42. Can Camp Point Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
