Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 48-24 to the Thunder Ridge Longhorns. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Longhorns from their previous meeting back in January.
Kaylee Otte was Lakeside's leading scorer, having posted 13 points. Otte also led the team in rebounds with 11. Marley McCoy took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Thunder Ridge had a senior duo take command as Jennifer Cochrun posted 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards and Jenna Barnes dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. Those 17 points gave Cochrun a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Khloe Reimer, who had eight points and ten rebounds.
Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Thunder Ridge, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside will head out to square off against Bennington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thunder Ridge will take on Natoma in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Natoma has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
