DeKalb County and Warren County are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The DeKalb County Tigers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, DeKalb County came up short against Cannon County and fell 53-46. DeKalb County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Warren County's 22-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a hard 44-25 fall against York Institute on Monday. While losing is never fun, Warren County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while York Institute is ranked 74th).
Despite their defeat, Warren County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alexxia Verge, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all.
DeKalb County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Warren County, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
