The Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 81-31 loss at the hands of Rio Vista.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rio Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than Filippo Bencetti, who scored ten points along with eight steals and five assists. Bencetti has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dawson Macklin, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Azle Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Rio Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Azle Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Providence Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Rio Vista will be home for the holidays to greet Cayuga at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
