The Grain Valley Eagles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Webb City Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Grain Valley is ranked 18th, while Webb City is ranked 12th).
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grain Valley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past Platte County 27-25.
Meanwhile, Webb City put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Carthage on the road to the tune of 42-7. With Webb City ahead 27-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Gabe Johnson had a dynamite game for Webb City, rushing for 197 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Omari Jackson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Grain Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Webb City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
