The Timpanogos Timberwolves were the 59-38 winner over the Mountain View Bruins when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Timpanogos took a hard 56-39 fall against Mountain View on Friday. Timpanogos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Maddox, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Maddox posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Puckett, who scored six points along with three steals and two blocks.
Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaycee Carlson led the charge by scoring 15 points along with nine steals and six assists. Carlson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Lia Suguturaga, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Timpanogos' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Mountain View, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timpanogos will take on Payson at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Payson is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Mountain View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Orem at 5:15 p.m. Orem is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
