There's no place like home for Salem, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They pulled ahead with an 83-82 photo finish over the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans on Friday. The Sundevils' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Veritas Collegiate Academy still got an impressive performance from Marcqell Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 assists. The contest was Freeman's 28th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Wray, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points.

Salem picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

When Salem and Veritas Collegiate Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Salem will try to stop Kellam's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Veritas Collegiate Academy will try to stop Rise Academy's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th.
