The Murray Spartans were the 60-32 winner over the Alta Hawks when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Murray received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 65-47 to Alta. Murray found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up eight fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Murray still got an impressive performance from Charlotte Scherbel, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Anaafi, who scored 7 points.
Alta found their leader in underclassman Quincy Kegel, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Alia Baldassano was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 3 steals.
Murray's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Alta, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Murray will head out on the road to face off against Cyprus at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alta, they will be playing at home against Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
