Tatum (N.M.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 20-8 victory over
Logan (N.M.) on Saturday.After taking the lead on a
Timmy Pearce touchdown run in the second quarter, the Coyotes led 6-2 at the half.
Tatum expanded its lead to 12 points entering the fourth quarter. THS scored two times in the third, including once on a Pearce touchdown run.
Tyler Mehl made a difference for the Longhorns. The junior ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.
Pearce was the top performer for the Coyotes. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Logan's lone touchdown came on a 40-yard run by Mehl in the fourth quarter.
Tatum also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 18-8.
Logan (2-3) will play a 8-Man District 1 (8 Man) game against Springer/Maxwell next week, while Tatum (5-0) will take on Gateway Christian in a 8-Man District 2 (8 Man) game.
