Softball Recap: Eastmark Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

Douglas typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Eastmark proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The Firebirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Mia Migliaccio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jasmine Boling, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Bozeman, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Eastmark is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Douglas, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-7.

Eastmark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Douglas, they will take on Cholla at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
