Genesee barely beat Orofino the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Maniacs 16-3 on Wednesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendra Meyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sophie Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Sydney Banks was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Genesee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orofino only posted an OBP of .053.
Genesee's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Orofino, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-8.
Coming up, Genesee will face off against Asotin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Orofino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
