Bowman Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Lake Station Edison at home to the tune of 84-38. Bowman Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 21 points or more this season.
Bowman Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamarie Pollard out in front who scored 25 points along with three steals and three blocks. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jalen Branham, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne North Side put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over Fort Wayne Snider. Given Fort Wayne North Side's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Fort Wayne Snider is ranked 69th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bowman Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Fort Wayne North Side, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Bowman Academy ended up a good deal behind Fort Wayne North Side in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, losing 77-63. Can Bowman Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
