The Countryside Christian Minutemen will head out on the road to square off against the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Countryside Christian's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a serious blow against Meadowbrook Academy, falling 58-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Countryside Christian has suffered since December 7, 2023.
Meanwhile, Saint Francis Catholic put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 62-28 victory over Bell at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Saint Francis Catholic just coasted through the last quarter.
Saint Francis Catholic found their leader in underclassman Liam Banks, who scored 22 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Banks has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Powers, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Countryside Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Countryside Christian was dealt a bruising 79-37 loss at the hands of Saint Francis Catholic in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Countryside Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
