The Poston Butte Broncos came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 53-19 victory over American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North. With Poston Butte ahead 31-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Poston Butte's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Autumn Thomas, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Julia Harris, who scored six points along with nine steals and eight rebounds.
American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Saige Barney, who scored six points.
Poston Butte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poston Butte and the Firebirds will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eastmark is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North, they will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
