The Pace Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Rivera Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pace comes in on 16 and Rivera on four.
Pace's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Donna North as they made off with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Luna Juarez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Valeria Alvarado was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was America Delgado, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Pace lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Donna North didn't launched any.
Rivera came out on top against Mercedes on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Raiders blew past the Tigers 11-2. The Raiders are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 11th matchup they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Kiley Trevino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Trevino was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The victory got Rivera back to even at 13-13-1. As for Pace, their record now sits at 26-0-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pace has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rivera struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pace beat Rivera 7-2 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
