The Fair Play Hornets lost against the Niangua Cardinals back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Fair Play suffered a rough 51-26 loss at the hands of Niangua. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fair Play in their matchups with Niangua: they've now lost seven in a row.
Niangua got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Clayton Henderson out in front who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Henderson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Scheetz, who scored 12 points along with six assists and four steals.
Fair Play has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Niangua, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Fair Play will head out on the road to challenge Macks Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Macks Creek is ranked 498th, while Fair Play is ranked 515th). As for Niangua, they will be playing at home against Bradleyville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Niangua's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Bradleyville has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.
