Lake Weir is 1-9 against Vanguard since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Wednesday. The Lake Weir Hurricanes will head out on the road to face off against the Vanguard Knights at 7:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Friday, Lake Weir humbled  Belleview with a  83-37 victory. With Lake Weir ahead  39-19 at the half, the  match was all but over already.
 Lake Weir's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Tra'shawn Warren led the charge by  scoring 24 points along with 7  rebounds and 7  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Angel Henderson, who  scored 19 points along with 6  steals.
 Meanwhile, Vanguard didn't have too much breathing room in their  matchup against Fleming Island on Friday, but they still walked away with a  58-52 win.
 The losses dropped both teams to an identical 1-2.
 Lake Weir opened the new year with a less-than-successful  76-64 defeat to Vanguard. Can Lake Weir avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
