Volleyball Recap: Mater Bay Academy Comes Up Short

Mater Bay Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 24-26, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Mater Bay Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kevin Lorenzo had 13 kills and six blocks. Lorenzo is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Mater Bay Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Archbishop Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Mater Bay Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South on the 9th. As for Archbishop Carroll, they will be playing at home against Colonial Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
