Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest lost against West Jordan back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies came up short against the Jaguars, falling 3-0. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Hillcrest ultimately came up short, they really made West Jordan work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 25-17.

Hillcrest's offense was headlined by Nola Bonner and Kinley Woodmansee-Ottenstein, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Jane Thomas and her 12 assists. Imani Flores controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Tatiana Cortes, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for West Jordan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Hillcrest has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against West on the 16th. As for West Jordan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Kearns on the 16th.
