Patrick McKaufman and Dior Smiley provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Mannford. The connection went for 58 yards, the longest such play in 4A District 2 this season.
Glenpool was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Warriors beat Harrah 27-26 earlier in the week.
Douglass's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. McKaufman threw for 201 and two touchdowns and Smiley had 90 yards receiving. On the ground Chavez Wyatt chipped in 166 yards. Johnny Jones helped Douglass' passing attack out by catching four balls for 70 yards.
Klayton Adams made the biggest impact on defense this week as McLoud bested Santa Fe South. The 5-foot-10 senior recorded one fumble.
The Redskins' Joseph Wood and Zaylon Mahtapene have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 631 yards this season, while Mahtapene, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 15 catches for 248 yards. Christopher High from the Trojans leads the league in rushing with 649 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 2 this week will be when McLoud takes on Tecumseh. At the moment, Eric Cardin's team is in second, while the Savages are in fourth.
Ada extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tecumseh, 56-15. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Cougars.
