Basketball Recap: Asheville Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Asheville posted their closest win since January 5, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged the R-S Central Hilltoppers out 61-59. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 63-41 victory the Hilltoppers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Asheville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hunter Israel, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 18 points. Andre Thomas was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 15 points.

Asheville's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for R-S Central, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
