Pace hasn't had much luck against Mercedes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Pace will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
On Tuesday, Pace needed a bit of extra time to put away Rivera. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Raiders, sneaking past 3-1.

Nubia Alvarado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over eight innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Valeria Alvarado was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mercedes lost 12-1 to Lopez on Tuesday.
Mercedes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kristine Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Mercedes' loss dropped their record down to 11-17-1. As for Pace, their record now sits at 27-0-1.
Pace's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Vikings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mercedes, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pace continue to outrun the ball?
Pace got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Mercedes by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
