The Riverton Silverwolves will head out to challenge the Davis Darts at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Riverton nor Copper Hills made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Silverwolves walked away with a 6-1 win over the Grizzlies. Those six runs were actually the fewest the Silverwolves have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Peyton Sanchez spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Riverton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydan Bushman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Davis faced Bear River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Darts put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Darts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Serena Roth and Cambell Christensen made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Roth struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Christensen didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. At bat, Roth went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Christensen went 3-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits Christensen has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Davis got a big performance out of Norah Sunderland, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Sunderland has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Peery, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Davis hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.
Riverton's record is now 10-0. As for Davis, their record now sits at 7-0.
Riverton's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Silverwolves have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Davis, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Riverton continue to outrun the ball?
Riverton got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 against Davis by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Silverwolves repeat their success, or do the Darts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
