If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Harlan. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Atlantic at 7:30 PM. Harlan will be hoping to build upon the 22-0 win they picked up against Atlantic the last time they played.
Harlan took their matchup against Carroll last week by a conclusive 35-6 score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Harlan had established a 35-6 advantage.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Atlantic ultimately got the result it was hoping for. They dodged a bullet, finishing off Clarinda 21-20. The success represented a nice turnaround for Atlantic, who in their last game suffered a tough 20-43 loss.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-1. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Harlan and Atlantic clash.
