The Mounds Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 40-28 to Haskell. Mounds has not had much luck with Haskell recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Mounds still got an impressive performance from Baylie Harig, who scored 17 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harig has scored all season.
Mounds' loss was their 17th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.3 points per game. As for Haskell, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mounds and Haskell will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Haskell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. They on the road again on Saturday and play against Regent Prep at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th.
