The Willow Spring Storm stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cleveland 63-21 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Willow Spring who now have seven in a row.
It was another big night for Zariah Burnette, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Amanda Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Cleveland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Grace Keighley. Despite the final result, she scored seven points along with four steals. Keighley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cleveland struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Willow Spring racked up 16 assists.
Willow Spring is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Cleveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Spring will square off against Corinth Holders at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Corinth Holders focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Wednesday. As for Cleveland, they will head out on the road to take on Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Garner is coming into the contest with four straight losses at home, meaning Cleveland will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
