Benedictine has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Stockbridge Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Benedictine had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 48-26 margin over the Titans. Benedictine's victory was all the more impressive since North Oconee was averaging only 10.85 points allowed on the season.
Benedictine can attribute much of their success to Luke Kromenhoek, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown, and Bryce Baker, who rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Benedictine's defense and their eight sacks. Leading the way was Herbert ?third? scroggins iii and his 3.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.2 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. Everything went their way against Spalding as Stockbridge made off with a 35-14 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Stockbridge just coasted through the last quarter.
Jayden "duke" Scott was his usual excellent self, rushing for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Scott is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
Benedictine has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 13-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.1 points per game. As for Stockbridge, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Benedictine strolled past Stockbridge in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 31-14. Does Benedictine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stockbridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
