Covenant Christian extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 7-2 in the process. They never let the Speedway Sparkplugs get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. As for Speedway, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8-1. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly two runs.
On Speedway's side, Luke Chastain was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. What's more, Chastain gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
