Softball Recap: Hillcrest Has No Trouble Against Cottonwood

Hillcrest won the last time they faced Cottonwood and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies blew past the Colts 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Hillcrest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Cottonwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will face off against Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies are facing the Beetdiggers at the right time seeing as the Beetdiggers are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Cottonwood, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Highland at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th.
