The Dallas HSAA Red Blue Angels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of North Central Texas Academy by a score of 55-52. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Dallas HSAA Red of the 59-43 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Kyrylo Nykyforenko, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds for North Central Texas Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Cardenas, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds and five blocks.
Dallas HSAA Red's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for North Central Texas Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dallas HSAA Red will face off against John Paul II at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Central Texas Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Central Texas Academy in Texas (Trinity Christian is ranked 233rd, while North Central Texas Academy is ranked 550th).
