The Countryside Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Largo Packers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Countryside 3.3, Largo 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Monday, Countryside was able to grind out a solid win over Boca Ciega, taking the game 7-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Braeden Callahan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Jake Riba looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).
Back at the plate, Luke Neubauer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Jaxson Contrino was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases.
Countryside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Largo, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Clearwater on Friday.
Brady Ahlers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Largo's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Davis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Largo's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Countryside, their record now sits at 12-6.
Countryside suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Largo in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Countryside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
