Even though the Clayton Bulldogs scored an imposing 61 points on Thursday, the Lakewood Christian Lions still came out on top. Lakewood Christian took their match against Clayton 69-61. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lakewood Christian.
Clayton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layton Brown, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Brown scored a full 27.9% of Clayton's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stefen Lewis, who scored 12 points.
Lakewood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Clayton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Lakewood Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Union Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. Clayton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hanna at 2:10 p.m. on December 8th. Hanna is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
