The Pocatello Thunder lost to the Eagle Mustangs back in January of 2015, but the Pocatello Thunder didn't allow the Eagle Mustangs the same satisfaction on Friday. Pocatello took down Eagle 64-49. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pocatello.
When it comes to explaining why Eagle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Russell Gibson. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with 5 assists. Gibson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cal Huish, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
Pocatello's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eagle, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pocatello will challenge Meridian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Eagle, they will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
