Baseball Recap: Eastwood Now 13-3 over Last 16 Games

Eastwood barely beat Rossford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Kadyn Donnell made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Brock Messinger and Connor Norton did most of the damage at the plate: Messinger went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles, while Norton went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Norton a new career-high. Paul Lautzenheiser was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Eastwood has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Rossford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Looking ahead, Eastwood will square off against Fostoria at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.09 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rossford, they will take on Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
