If the Clay County Tigers were riding high off their 74-28 takedown of the Harlan Green Dragons on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Clay County fell 65-52 to Mercer County on Saturday.
Clay County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hayden Harris, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Bundy, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
Clay County's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Mercer County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay County will take on Floyd Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mercer County, they will play host again and welcome Western Hills, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
