The Central Dauphin East Panthers are on the road again on Friday and plays the State College Little Lions at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. State College took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Central Dauphin East, who comes in off a win.
Even though Milton Hershey scored an imposing 57 points on Wednesday, Central Dauphin East still came out on top. Central Dauphin East managed a 61-57 win over the Spartans. Given Central Dauphin East's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Spartans are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, State College came up short against the Trojans on Tuesday and fell 59-49.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aidan Angus, who scored eight points along with six assists and five rebounds. Luke Torbic was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two blocks.
Central Dauphin East's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for State College, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
Central Dauphin East came up short against the Little Lions in their previous meeting back in January, falling 48-40. Can Central Dauphin East avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
